1. Acceptance
By accessing or using Quiz Vault and its quiz library, accounts, leaderboards, public profiles, quiz requests, live rooms, Versus matches and related features (the Service), you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Who may use the Service
You must be able to enter into these terms under the law that applies to you. Children and young people should use Quiz Vault with a parent or carer where appropriate. A parent or carer who permits a child to use the Service is responsible for supervising that use.
3. Accounts, player names and invite codes
- Keep account access, multiplayer links and invite codes secure and share them only with intended participants.
- Use a non-identifying player name and do not impersonate another person.
- You are responsible for activity carried out through your account or guest browser session, except to the extent caused by Quiz Vault’s failure to take reasonable care.
- Use the Quiz Vault contact form if you believe access has been compromised.
Leaderboards and multiplayer areas may display player names, scores, timing and results to other users.
4. Fair and acceptable use
You must not:
- cheat, automate answers, manipulate scores or interfere with fair play;
- attempt to bypass access controls, rate limits, security or player-session protections;
- probe, disrupt, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the Service except where law expressly permits it;
- upload or submit unlawful, abusive, threatening, discriminatory, deceptive, obscene or infringing material;
- collect another user’s information without permission; or
- use the Service in a way that harms Quiz Vault, its users or any third party.
5. Quiz content and user submissions
Quiz content is provided for entertainment and general educational purposes. Although care is taken, questions, answers, images, scores and explanations may be incomplete, outdated or incorrect. Do not rely on the Service as professional, medical, legal, financial or safety advice.
You retain ownership of original material you submit. You grant Quiz Vault a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, review, adapt, moderate and display that material only as reasonably needed to operate, improve and promote the Service. You confirm that you have the rights needed to submit it. Quiz Vault may reject, edit or remove submissions and quiz content.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, its software, design, branding and Quiz Vault-created content are owned by or licensed to Quiz Vault and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms give you a personal, limited, revocable and non-transferable right to use the Service; they do not transfer ownership. Third-party content remains subject to its owner’s rights and any displayed credit or licence.
7. Availability, changes and moderation
Quiz Vault may add, change, correct, pause or discontinue features or content, and cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Progress, scores, rooms or matches may be corrected or removed where they are corrupted, expired, fraudulent or inconsistent with fair play. Access may be restricted or suspended where reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, law enforcement or a serious or repeated breach of these terms.
8. External services and links
The Service may rely on or link to third-party platforms, hosting, sign-in, sharing and notification services. Their own terms and privacy practices apply. Quiz Vault is not responsible for third-party services it does not control.
9. Consumer rights, disclaimers and liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Subject to those non-excludable rights, the Service is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, Quiz Vault excludes implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, loss of opportunity, or loss of data arising from use of or inability to use the Service.
Where liability cannot be excluded but may lawfully be limited, it is limited to the minimum remedy permitted by applicable law. This section does not limit liability for fraud, wilful misconduct or any other liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
10. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Australia, without preventing you from relying on mandatory rights available where you live. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable law may hear disputes.
These terms may be updated when the Service or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continuing to use the Service after an update means the revised terms apply from that date, to the extent permitted by law.
